Will Two of a Kind rekindle the fire?
John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John are back together again both hoping they can rekindle the fire and the passion that made Grease such a success. But fans who are expecting to see the kind of innocent lovelorn High School youngsters they played in the hit musical are in for a shock. Their new film is a sex comedy features John and Olivia in passionate bedroom scenes. The kids from Grease, it seems, have grown up. Not only that, they’ve stopped singing too. We’re not schoolkids any more,
Livvy told me. John and I have a lively chemistry together and it seems to work on screen.
In the past five years John and Livvy have searched and sifted through hundreds of scripts, hoping to find one which could successfully team them together again. The result is Two of a Kind, which is to be released in St. John’s towards the end of this week. Although she doesn’t sing in the movie, Livvy has recorded four songs including a duet with John for the soundtrack. One of them, Twist of Fate, has just been released as a single in Britain.
Livvy came to London to make a promotional video and took time off to talk about the two men in her life - John Travolta and the actor she lives with Matt Lattanzi. I love working with John,

Neither John nor Livvy have made another film as successful since Grease. So they’re keeping their fingers crossed for Two of a Kind. Earlier this year John rang me,
said Livvy. He was very excited about this love story, set in New York, featuring an aspiring actress and a madcap inventor.
Travolta told her: If this one doesn’t work for us then we might as well give up looking for a script!
The last time we met, Livvy, 35, had just cut her flowing golden hair and talked to me about losing her little girl innocent image. Now two years on, the transformation is complete. I watched her rehearse for her video with dancers choreographed by Hot Gossip’s Arlene Phillips. She wore a skin tight blue leather suit, high heel shoes, huge silver earrings and had fiercely back-combed spikey hair. Making this film has changed me as a person,
she explained The girl I play is trying to become an actress and, as I had never taken acting lessons, I decided to do so.
Livvy says her relationship with Matt, who is 10 years her junior, is still as strong as ever. People hardly ever mention the age difference these days.
Livvy saw red recently over stories that explicit bedroom scenes in Matt’s new film, My Tutor, had caused he and Livvy to split up. People were going around saying that I didn’t like the love scenes in Matt’s film and that we’d had a huge row in public and that I’d thrown him out.
So what did she really think about his love scenes with actress Karen Kaye? I liked the film,
Livvy said. I thought Matt was very good in it, and of course I felt a little jealous when I saw the love scenes.
But she laughed loudly, and added: How could I be mad though? Why should I object to Matt playing love scenes with Karen Kaye when I get to do love scenes with John Travolta
